Just curious does anyone else think the song HB/SA and "Buried in your black heart" sound similar riff wise? or am I just crazy. If they do sound similar that's not a bad thing at all, just wondering if anyone noticed that.

Ok - i'm kind of new here and I'm going out on a limb...
for me it's VTL - his voice, lyrics, songwriting - that is what makes both bands the ulitmate in kick assedness (yes, that is a word, it is now - if the bard can make up his own shit then i can too)
don't get me wrong - i know that VTL is not singlehandedly responsible for the genesis of all the albums that the Toadies or BB released - he's worked with some phenominal musicians and writers....
BUT
there is a sound that VTL creates - i don't even know how to decribe it but it is instantly recognizable - maybe only to me - c'mon some of you HAVE to know what i am talking about - the songs that he writes with other people, or written by other people just sound a little different than the ones he creates on his own - it just isn't exactly the same aesthetic - not to say that one is better than the other...
in other words
VTL could be working on the new group of "real men of genius" beer commercials and I would still freak out because he had a project

Maybe you could get him a gig with the water company you work for. I come from the water....

that would be AWESOME!
They could hire him to rock in the break room!
or just to follow me around a rock
or he could just be our new coporate mascot!
i'm fine with any of those
that was a great suggestion - HR

I bet it's a big relief for Vaden to know that if this whole musician thing doesn't work out, we can keep him busy with odd jobs.

C'mon. Give it another listen or two, Nut. |
| I'm sure that I could learn to like it if I listened to it enough. I can do that with almost anything. HB/SA came out better IMO.

True that. But there are also some songs that are catchy on first blush, like that tune you heard on the OC, that don't have enough substance to hold your attention. Some tunes don't reveal it all immediately and you get to have a relationship with them--(insert dating analogy here).

I thought we were doing pretty good for not really having a band to talk about and all...
